Looking for more integrated content? I conceived a series called Workout of the Week and then had our club photographer work with an assigned trainer to put together a workout. I then put everything together on our website and figured out how to explain each exercise in simple to use terms.

Here is a blog that was a workout, lots of words, and basic exercises that we all generally know. I made them visual by putting them into a graphic and then spelling it out a bit in the blog below:

Here is a longer piece on Community Influencer Marketing using SEO Keywords Community Influencer, What is a Community Influencer, Community Influencer Marketing:

WHAT IS COMMUNITY INFLUENCER MARKETING?

When you hear the phrase Community Influencer, what comes to mind? Kim Kardashian? Facebook groups? Gary V? That girl you almost ran over as she made a video on the median?

It’s so easy to dismiss social media influencers as a bit of fluff. As people who have too much time on their hands or an expensive celebrity endorsement. When, in fact, finding the right influencer match to your brand can be a hyper-targeted way to know that your digital ad spend is getting to your customer.

Community Influencers have been around forever. In the past, you may have thought of them as the connectors in your neighborhoods. They are members of your Chamber of Commerce. They are the people who urge friends to join their gym. They refer friends and family to their hairstylists. They are quick to let you know where they bought that outfit AND the deal they got on it! They’re regular people who have been an essential part of your business.

Social media now has a way to allow you to access these valuable assets to reward and inspire them to introduce your brand to their online friends and family.

These folks are content creators who are your super fans.

Community Influencers can have a following from 500 to 5 million. Their followers comment and connect with them regularly. They care about what they are putting out in the world as they have taken the time to build trust online. These are people using your product and sharing their excitement about your brand.

Community Influencers are regular people who authentically share their passions with their niche audience.

These people can have significant national and global communities or have a follower count closer to 1,000 rather than 10,000.

The truth is that the more you niche down to your community, you may not need influencers with thousands of followers. The right influencer for your brand may have a smaller following but an audience more likely to become your customer because they share enthusiasm for the same hobbies, activities, and products.

These are people who may already be posting about you as they are genuine fans. They may already be on your staff! For example, in the fitness industry, instructors may have large followings in their communities who may also share an affinity for your brand or are poised to be your next customer.

Lululemon is an excellent example of this. They have utilized influencers they call brand ambassadors for years. They activate their influencers by giving fitness professionals free attire to wear to classes they teach in person and online. As Lululemon is also activewear, their clothes can easily be worn by their influencers in any of their social posts showing off a larger life beyond the gym.

How do you use Community Influencers in your digital marketing?

Let’s say you know which social platform is best for your brand. You’ve uncovered a few content creators who post consistently, vibe with your brand identity, and have an engaged audience; what do you do to partner with them to grow your business?

The first thing when approaching any social media marketing effort is to start with the end in mind. Know what you want out of your online endeavors.

Goals could look like this:

  • Sales

    • These would be direct online sales using a trackable link or promo code.

  • Website visits

    • This may be something like a specific blog or landing page that would allow you to track visits during the time frame of each post.

  • Lead generation

    • This could be a form fill that utilizes either a trackable link or referral drop-down box.

  • Building your business social following or online fan base

    • This could look like a giveaway whose entry includes a follow to your business social page or posts from fans using photos and videos showing off your product with a #.

  • In-person visits to your business or event

    • This could include a discount to be applied when mentioning a post or in-person referral or promo code. This could also be an online RSVP to an in-person event with a trackable link or a referral drop-down box.

With any of these primary objectives, you may get a minor overflow to the other goals. Overall you want your KPIs to be measurable and meaningful to your business.

When you engage an influencer, they need clear, direct marching orders. Community Influencers really know their audience. They understand how to connect with their following and get them excited about their mutual interests. Giving them clear direction on your marketing goals will allow them to create authentic content that doesn’t feel sales-y or overly promoted.

You might find it easier to supply them with copy, blogs, product samples, or photos to help them create more powerful posts. Make sure you have trackable links and promo codes whenever possible. Give them as much content to help them understand how to communicate your offerings to their audience, yet be open to them making the message their own. They may talk about your products differently than you do. That is okay. Give them space to speak authentically about your brand.

Community Influencers become popular online because they have a genuine love of connecting with other people. This includes your business. If they partner with you, they want you to succeed. They want their content to have an impact. That is a primary reason they spend so much time on their social platforms. Set them up for success by ensuring that you have measurable goals and content to share so that their posts can be meaningful to their audience and your business.

Re-sharing influencer posts to your social pages or website allow you to get more mileage out of that content.  Re-sharing influencer posts will give you another perspective on your messaging, and it then becomes a bit of a testimonial or review.

Online review statics for 2021 show that 84% of people trust online reviews as much as they trust recommendations from friends. 75% of people online trust a business after seeing a positive review.

(source: websitebuilder.com via quizlet and best4business.com)

Community influencers are essentially recommending your business to their friends, offering a trusted review of your products.
